For the title of this exhibition I searched for the name of a
site-specific wind in the Helsinki area. When the wind direction
changes, it can also be a sign of a change of preconditions.
For me, wind is synonymous with change, freshness and new ideas.
So with this wind I hope for inspiration, fresh impressions and new
directions in my artistic work.
Bernhard Lochmann’s artistic works include drawings, prints, and book objects. The working principle of collage and drawing is reflected in many of his works.
In the exhibition “Kalasatama – tuuli,” he deals with the new impressions that the site-specific Finnish wind brought him during his residency in Vantaa and inspired him to create new graphic works.
Bernhard Lochmann lives and works in Salzburg/ Austria. He studied graphic arts and teaching at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. He trained and specialized in printmaking techniques at the graphic arts workshop at the Grafische Werkstatt im Traklhaus in Salzburg. He is a senior artist at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, in the graphic arts class and employee at the Graphic Workshop at Traklhaus. Bernhard Lochmann participates in cultural life in Salzburg as an artist, teacher, and cultural mediator.
